The Q We Should be Asking
Fill in the blank:
Why is there so much _______ in this world?
What’s the word you most often hear in this sentence?
Suffering? Why is there so much suffering in this world?
It’s a question asked over and over, as we try to make sense of injustice, death, illness, tragedy, and evil of every kind. It’s often asked in connection with faith and doubt. If God is good, kind, just, and loving, why all the suffering we see and experience?
It’s a question I’ve pondered, and I bet you have too.
Here’s another question to ask and consider:
Why is there so much beauty in this world?
[Credit to Cherie Snyder, speaker at Captivating CORE, for pointing this out, and for the following quote:]
“This earth is a sensory feast!”
Indeed. Why is this world so beautiful, filled with wonder and delight? Some form of beauty is available, no matter where you go.
Consider your senses and all the beauty available to each one.
